King of Fighters 96 (PS1) DESCRIPCION: The King of Fighters '96 is the third title in the King of Fighters series by SNK. It continues the 3-part story known as the "Orochi Saga" that began with The King of Fighters '95. The King of Fighters '96 was released for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in Japan. The Saturn port required expandable memory to run the game. This title was also released for Nintendo's portable; Game Boy, which was only available in Japan. This is the first title to achieve a different look and feel than its predecessors; its graphics and sounds matched the later and more current King of Fighters, improving on its previous installment, KOF '95. Despite other modifications, simple attack commands such as Benimaru's Flying Drill (in the air ↓+D), or Kyo's 88 Shiki (↘+D) were removed. New characters were also introduced, such as Kasumi Todoh, who joined the Ladies Team and becomes a rival to the Art of Fighting Team (particularly with Ryo Sakazaki); Leona Heidern, who joins the Ikari Team replacing her mentor and adoptive father Heidern, to investigate Geese Howard; Mature and Vice, two of Rugal's personal assistants, who team up with Iori Yagami and assist him; as well as the Boss Team, which consists of Fatal Fury bosses Geese Howard and Wolfgang Krauser, and Art of Fighting boss and Geese's right-hand man, Mr. Big.
